Gourmet MoscowVisit to Danilovsky Market

Moscow, Russia

About

Danilovsky Market is not just a major gastronomic attraction point on Moscow’s map, but also a fully-fledged urban space, regularly used for fair, lectures, workshops, auctions, shows, parties, and even film premieres. In 2020, Jamie Oliver’s first culinary school outside Britain opened at the market. His cafe with impeccable Italian cuisine is already operating there.

You can not only buy products from the regions of Russia and the CIS states, but also have lunch in the cafés around the market. However, even if you are not shopping, it is entertaining to peruse the tables piled high with multicolored produce: homemade cheese and jam, golden honey straight from the hive, vibrantly colored spices pouring out of plastic bags, slippery silver fish posing on beds of ice, and huge slabs of meat hanging from the ceiling.
